Congrats to the WNBA. They had 1,032 viewers versus only 897 last year. With this momentum, they are now considering using a normal-sized basketball.

Retarded thread of the day goes to you, congrats sir.
Not sure why you say retarded because it's actually fascinating to see the ratings and how the went up/down during COVID-19

This it's not a retarded thread so consider what you say before you post

Who is really watching that shit to begin with. Not really that big of a surprise when you consider their target audience
combined with the ultra low bar to begin with.

I don’t remember what it was but probably the reason for the WNBA being up 15% is the lead in program .
I don’t remember what it was but I was watching something hi profile before the WNBA game came on and never changed the channel.

Got busy doing something and before you knew my tv was on the WNBA till halftime .

That’s why lead ins are a big deal.
That and the fact that WNBA ratings suck to begin with and it don’t take much to move the needle

That’s why they always have something high profile come on the networks right after the super bowl . It’s the ultimate lead in

I dont understand why its the Retarded thread of the day? A bunch of people on here are OBSESSED with low ratings so stating facts.

I think that is interesting for sure.

Has overpriced sport, and whiny unappreciative athletes reached their ceiling?

If so, why now?

It’s concerning the the nba when their biggest star and their biggest brand bring in terrible numbers. NHL had smaller market teams in it this year so the drop makes sense to a degree. Other sports may be explicable too but the nba should be worried when LeBron and the lakers can’t draw a viewing audience.

The NBA is doing fine. They are international with half of the league from other countries. Also, they get top pay from streaming views from other countries with China delivering most of the dollars. Houston got rid of GM D. Morey to clear those checks.

In July, China's Tencent reached a five-year, $1.5 billion deal to remain the league's exclusive digital partner in China, and it is the NBA's largest partnership outside of the U.S. CCTV has a lucrative financial partnership with the NBA televising multiple games live each week, including coverage of the playoffs.Oct 9, 2019

For NHL/NBA/MLB, running all at the same time while NFL is on is difficult. Media just going to cover your sports a lot less, NFL is just king over everything.

Even if a game isn't on the same night as NFL game, if people are already watching NFL, how much more sports can the average person really watch? So it is a cannibalizing effect.

You pretty much summed it up. You know they all got to come in to let you know they haven't watch whatever sport in years. Same shyt different day. Expect Kenny B. to come in next. Hell I bet half of his post count come from saying he will not watch the NFL.
